AN21 & Max Vangeli - People of the Night Album Review & Size Matter Preview

With the huge Size Matters show in Central Park this Saturday, BGB took the time to review the album frmo AN21 & Max Vangeli, People of the Night. Check it ATJ.

Overall, the duo did some tremendous work for their first full length studio album.  While fans always expect the best and want to see a complete album top to bottom, how many mainstream artists these day really deliver?  iTunes has put focus on singles, not albums and Music Artists have catered to this movement, EDM is no different by any means.  Check out my review of most songs from the album.

People of the Night - Obvious banger.  Heard it at 4am at Roseland when the message was clearly resonating and crowd was going wild.

Glow - 1 step away from being a big room house song.  Right now it could be a song off of Indie Pop Music Album.

Bombs over Capitals - Has only 2 drops that are not very inspiring.  Another song with promise in Stage 2 of development but not a hit.

H8rs - Songs seems to be 75% of the way there.  Love the progression but for a song attempting to laugh at the H8rs, it it missing that crescendo or drop to take it to the next level.
Fresh Start - Favorite song on the album.  Absolutely love it.  Love the Snyth, just love it.

Vafan - Catchy song that I enjoyed but was no blown away.  Always a fan of some horns but just not enough to get me off the floor.

Whisper - Another favorite on the album.  Example is one of my favorite artists out there and lay vocals that are emotional and could bring this track into the mainstream.

Story - I remember hearing AN21 and Max speaking on their 1st Essential Mix that they wanted to tell a story with their sets.  The title is aptly named but I enjoyed this song as it builds little by little, drops off at 2 minutes and then comes back with the drum and bass, finishing the song nicely.

There is plenty of work to be done and I know the duo will spice up some of the songs waiting for a bootleg and counter with the songs I think will get the crowd moving.  Sunny and 78 degrees in Central Park is the forecast so the show should be a blast.
