Capital Cities - “Nothing Compares 2 U”

If you've been behind on your music lately, let me get you up to speed quickly. Based out of LA, Capital Cities released their debut EP in 2011. If you haven't heard "Safe and Sound" yet, I highly suggest that you check it out below (it's been in my top 5 favorites since it came out). Since then they've come out with a whole bunch of great tracks and covers and have been touring all over the US and the world. They've come a long way in only a year and I know that this is just the beginning for the group. Here's a quick shoutout to my man Spencer Ludwig, the trumpet player for the band. The dude kills it.

Back to their new track, "Nothing Compares 2 U." I meant to post this when it came out about 3 weeks ago but I'm just beginning to realize that the real world is a lot busier than college... This is actually a cover that was written by Prince and made famous by Sinead O'Connor. Capital Cities takes the original lyrics and throws in their own synths and horns to turn it into a real funky, feel-good jam. Be sure to check this out.
