Next Day Fresh - “You Know”

My buddy Casey told me recently that his group Next Day Fresh just dropped their debut EP Awake. Included here is the opening track from the four-song album that combines elements of many different genres including hip-hop lyricism, acoustic guitar funk, electronic synths, and some dubstep whomps.

Feeling this track, and the others definitely grew on me with each successive listen. It can be a dangerous game blending genres and being ahead of the curve. Obviously not a perfect comparison, but  like Gaileo and other heretics, the world might not be ready for what you are coming with and you can get shunned. But if you are doing it right - just are early -  in due time you will get your props. Music is evolving more rapidly than ever before in history so cheers to those pushing the boundaries

They got another EP dropping soon so I'll be sure to keep the BGB world posted. Would love to hear them get into a quality studio to master some of the rougher around the edges areas (unless that's what they were shooting for in a Velvet Underground sort of way or something).
