The xx - Angels (Love Thy Brother Remix)

Some Arena Dub here from Love Thy Brother (click for archive) who is perhaps my favorite find of 2012. Here is the message Conor sent over along with the track:

Montreal electronic outift Liam & Conor Clarke from Love Thy brother have put their epic touch on Angels -- the first single from the xx's forthcoming album, Coexist. Consistently topping Hypem the brothers are known for their moody remixes of artists from Drake to Metric... Their new remix might just be their best work yet staying true to the original moody feeling of Angels but adding their own epic dub/rock vibe to the track.

"We knew we were going to remix this track the first time we heard it. We’re consistently drawn to badass but vulnerable female vocalists like Lana Del Rey, Daughter, & most recently Metric... Romy Madley Croft from the XX definitely fits this bill. The aching emotion in her voice as she whispers over a stark washed out guitar line is haunting.

We wanted to take that quiet emotion and turn it into something epic

So we layered on the movie sountrack percussion and then built the song out of these almost tropical filter sweeps into into big massive UK influenced 90’s rock lines with a dub vibe. We hope it hits the same notes
